Resumen:
My name is Diana Carolina Pinilla Peña, and I am a PhD student in chemistry at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. During bachelor´s degree in chemistry and training to become a science teacher, a big question constantly came to my mind, what to do with the waste produced from chemical processes. It was even more surprising when, during my work as a teacher, my students shared with me the same uncertainty about the impossibility of treating chemical waste to prevent pollution of the environment. At that point, I started to realize the importance of training not only the intellectual aspect but also to raise awareness for managing chemical residues. I also realized the importance of the principles of chemistry that could be sustainable and beneficial to the environment. From my perspective as a Colombian, our country is developing programs that are implemented as early as secondary school level. These are reinforced at home so as to develop an awareness of environmental care
